I’ll let you in on a little secret: I hated the XL board art I originally made. Can’t remember what it looks like? Here’s a reminder:
The only part I liked about any of it was the black hole which I was able to salvage and use in the expansion.

These 3D miniatures are the highest quality 3D prints that help the team in China to visualize what the final product should look like.
The print material colour is transparent, so the photos might make them look a little strange, but in person they look exactly how they should look in the final game.
Oh boy, what an awesome update I’ve got for you! Let’s jump right in…
What!? A new module? Can I just add stuff to the game after the campaign?
Sure can, I’m the creator. I can add a packet of tomato sauce to every box if I wanted!
First off, a bit of background: This was an idea I had kicking around in the back of my mind for a bit, but ran out of time to develop and play-test it before the campaign launched. I’m not one to promise something that isn’t fully made (and then rush to get it done later). Isn’t it better to get a surprise like this!?
WE DID IT!
Words cannot describe how cool it was to be involved in this campaign. There was something special about this one, and I have to put it down to you. So many people got involved in the events, comments, social goals and stream and it was honestly so much fun connecting with you all.
So, to all of you wonderful backers, THANK YOU! You made this campaign an absolute joy to run.
Your support and excitement for my little game about spaceships is everything a designer could hope for.

Whoa, can you believe it’s campaign time already!? I’ve been hard at work preparing the new Kickstarter page and polishing up some of the unannounced content. What is the unannounced content you ask!? Well you’ll have to stay tuned to the campaign to find out 😉. What I will mention is that there are two entirely new modules for you to add to the game that will expand the function of planets.
I should also mention, the time difference between Australia and the rest of the world will mean that for half of you, the campaign will actually start on the 4th of March. Either way, I’ll send out a quick email when it launches to keep you in the loop.!
After months and months of non-stop development, I can finally tell you all about the exciting changes coming to Mothership’s base game.
After the last campaign, I took what I thought was going to be a permanent hiatus from Mothership. I was proud of the game that I had made and was even prouder that so many people loved playing it. Then we found a publisher, which breathed new life into the game. After a year or so, I was only supposed to be consulting / advising on the new expansion but…I couldn’t help myself. I came up with so many new ideas that I couldn’t help but work on the game again.
Announcing Mothership’s 2nd expansion: Call of the Void
The first expansion, Into the Vortex, added more game variety in the way of player classes, nebula and wormholes. This expansion focuses on providing players with exciting side missions during the game.
I’m so excited to finally start revealing some information about the second edition of Mothership. I’m going to talk some more about my plans, the direction of the game and how you can be involved in the upcoming campaign below. But first, I’d love to introduce you to the latest unit which will be available in the base game, and through a first edition backer upgrade pack.
With so many changes coming to Mothership, I thought it would be fitting to give the site a bit of a face lift. Some key information on the main page is missing at the moment. Details such as the new Tech Tree, updated Control Panel and box contents will be added later.
