Full production started

All the files have been finalized and samples approved…Boda Games has started full production on Mothership! This means we are well on schedule for a February 2020 ship date. Everything has gone smoothly so far, and I’m super confident in our fulfillment partner Quartermaster Logistics to get the games to where they need to on time.

Big Pre-production update + Manufacturer spotlight

Manufacturer Spotlight

The 1st Edition of Mothership was handled by a company named WinGo who are known for a few Kickstarter games. They were great to work with and the minis were fantastic, but quality issues with some of the printed materials and increasing costs made us look else where for a new factory.

We chose a new manufacturer before the Kickstarter began, a process that took about 4 months. Out of a short list of about 5 companies, we chose Boda Games. They were kind enough to send us a sample (ie a full game!) to show us the quality of their work. They sent Bunny Kingdom which they produced (published by Iello) and we were very impressed. 

So far their communication and diligence in getting the quotes correct and working with the massive list of extras and SKU’s has been excellent.

Actually, let me emphasis that point a little further…the entire Mothership project is HUGE.

The only part I liked about any of it was the black hole which I was able to salvage and use in the expansion.

3D Master Miniatures

These 3D miniatures are the highest quality 3D prints that help the team in China to visualize what the final product should look like. 

The print material colour is transparent, so the photos might make them look a little strange, but in person they look exactly how they should look in the final game.

Oh boy, what an awesome update I’ve got for you! Let’s jump right in…

New Module: Black Holes + Neutron Stars

What!? A new module? Can I just add stuff to the game after the campaign?

Sure can, I’m the creator. I can add a packet of tomato sauce to every box if I wanted!

First off, a bit of background: This was an idea I had kicking around in the back of my mind for a bit, but ran out of time to develop and play-test it before the campaign launched. I’m not one to promise something that isn’t fully made (and then rush to get it done later). Isn’t it better to get a surprise like this!?

Campaign Closes at 128% – All Stretch and Social Goals Unlocked – THANK YOU!

WE DID IT! 

Words cannot describe how cool it was to be involved in this campaign. There was something special about this one, and I have to put it down to you. So many people got involved in the events, comments, social goals and stream and it was honestly so much fun connecting with you all.

So, to all of you wonderful backers, THANK YOU! You made this campaign an absolute joy to run.

Your support and excitement for my little game about spaceships is everything a designer could hope for.

7 Days until Kickstarter Launches!

Whoa, can you believe it’s campaign time already!? I’ve been hard at work preparing the new Kickstarter page and polishing up some of the unannounced content. What is the unannounced content you ask!? Well you’ll have to stay tuned to the campaign to find out 😉. What I will mention is that there are two entirely new modules for you to add to the game that will expand the function of planets.

I should also mention, the time difference between Australia and the rest of the world will mean that for half of you, the campaign will actually start on the 4th of March. Either way, I’ll send out a quick email when it launches to keep you in the loop.!
